Campus Lama & Campus Baru

The aerial photo at the top of this blog is the old campus (campus lama) of UNIMAS. Only two of the university's eight departments ('faculties') remain stationed here, but one of them - Social Sciences - encompasses my major, political science, so at least half of my classes will be here. The new campus (campus baru) which opened in 2006 is much larger (three times the size of Whitworth's) and modernized. It is rumored to have been built with assistance from the Japanese, which helps explain the several-story buildings and compact layout despite the campus being surrounded by miles and miles of forest. The international students dormitory is here.
