Old Kampus & New Kampus

The aerial photo in the header of this blog is the old campus (kampus lama). Only two of the university's eight departments, or 'faculties', remain stationed here. One of those is Fakulti Sains Sosial, which encompasses my major, political science, so at least half of my classes will be at the old campus.

The new campus (kampus baru) which opened in 2006 is more modern and larger - three times the size of Whitworth's. It is rumored to have been built with assistance from the Japanese, which helps explain the several-story buildings and compact layout despite the campus being surrounded by miles of forest. The international students dormitory is here, at the new campus.

The two campuses are connected by a 5-min drive on a road that cuts through jungle.
